About Me
Practicing as a clinical RN in Tucson for 32 years, I’m a graduate of the University of Arizona and a Wildcat fan. Working in several clinical areas – surgical, cardiovascular and pre and post anesthesia care – I have spent considerable time pursuing further education, becoming certified in cardiac intensive care, post and ambulatory anesthesia care nursing. My involvement in my community and my communication skills led my colleagues select me as a Tucson Fab 50 Nurse in 2010.
Personal Statement
The longer I have practiced nursing the stronger I have felt that patients needed more: more education, more of a voice in their own care, more treatment choices, and more healthcare practitioners listening to them. In my work as an iRNPA I have the time to listen, to educate, to research treatment options and advocate on behalf of our clients. My belief that food is medicine has lead me to further my knowledge of nutrition and other avenues of health such as Functional Medicine and Integrative Medicine. That is knowledge that I can share with my iRNPA clients. As an iRNPA I feel strongly that I am practicing Health and Wellness Advocacy.
