Most important for me as a Health Care Advocate, I am a strong patient and family advocate, able to work collaboratively with medical team and function as a resource for team members and family members. I also have the ability to work with the system to manage patient expectations and to move the patient toward achievable goals. My mission is to provide the education, resources, and tools to my clients so they can make truly informed decisions about their healthcare.
My areas of interest are people with complex medical issues, cancer patients and seniors (and their children who live in another state) who need help understanding their healthcare issues. I also have a lot of experience with pediatrics and neonates and working with their families to understand the child’s healthcare issues and treatment plans.
"I can whole heartily recommend, Nan Wetherhorn as a Patient Advocate. During a very challenging health issue Nan was able to assist me with health care decisions and was very supportive. She worked closely with me and my family and friends to ease the process and provide the resources needed for me to move through the challenges of a difficult health care situation." - Patient
